The Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Texas A&M WR Mike Evans with the seventh overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
SOURCE: Not available
Huddle Up: NFC South DBs had best buckle up as the Bucs have paired the 6-5, 230-pound Evans with 6-5, 240-pound incumbent Vincent Jackson. That translates into an immediate fantasy boost for whomever the Bucs' starting QB turns out to be, newcomer Josh McCown or holdover Mike Glennon.

Central Florida QB Blake Bortles was formally interviewed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the NFL Scouting Combine.
SOURCE: Not available
Huddle Up: Bortles, of course, is one of the hot QB properties in the 2014 draft, and it's hard to envision the QB lasting until the Bucs pick at 7th overall and it's harder to see the team -- which saw some flashes from rookie Mike Glennon a year ago -- spending another high pick on a QB.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made the hiring of head coach Lovie Smith (Bears) official Thursday, Jan. 2.
SOURCE: Not available
Huddle Up: Smith is a defensive-minded coach whose offense with the Bears ranked in the league's top half in yards gained only once in his 9 seasons in the Windy City. That makes his choice of offensive coordinators a key decision from a fantasy perspective.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers fired head coach Greg Schiano and general manager Mark Dominik.
SOURCE: Not available
Huddle Up: Schiano lasts just two seasons with the Bucs and produced a 11-21 record with no playoff berths. As a former Joe Paterno assistant he will likely become a favorite for the Penn State job once Bill O'Brien bolts for the NFL.

The Chicago Bears are expected to interview Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan Wednesday, Jan. 2.
SOURCE: Not available
Huddle Up: Sullivan was promoted from Giants' quarterbacks coach to Tampa Bay OC last year when Greg Schiano took over. His track record of developing Eli Manning and getting more out of Josh Freeman would bode well for Jay Cutler's numbers if he were to get the Chicago job.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have reportedly hired former Miami Dolphins linebackers coach Bill Sheridan as their new defensive coordinator.
SOURCE: Not available
Huddle Up: Sheridan also has ties to the Giants, much like the Bucs' new offensive coordinator. Hey, if you're going to emulate a franchise it may as well be one that's won two Super Bowls in the last five years.

Updating a previous report, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers named New York Giants quarterbacks coach Mike Sullivan as their new offensive coordinator Friday, Feb. 10. "We are very fortunate to add someone like Mike Sullivan to lead our offensive coaching staff," head coach Greg Schiano said. "He is a man of character and a complete football coach, who fits with the kind of football team we are building here."
SOURCE: Not available
Huddle Up: Sullivan will get to work with Josh Freeman, whose development took a step backwards in 2011. Obviously the Bucs are hoping Sullivan can take Freeman to the same level as two-time Super Bowl winner Eli Manning has achieved.

Oregon head coach Chip Kelly has decided not to take an offer from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to fill their head coaching vacancy, according to general manager Mark Dominik. "His heart is with college football and Oregon and he's no longer being considered," Dominik said.
SOURCE: Not available
Huddle Up: Kelly does have NFL aspirations and was believed to be very close to taking the Bucs' job before a last-minute change of heart. Kelly's U-turn sends the Buccaneers back to a list of candidates that includes Brad Childress, Marty Schottenheimer, Mike Sherman, Rob Chudzinski, Jerry Gray, Mike Zimmer, and Tom Clements.

The Bucs' inactives are WR Sammie Stroughter, RB Allen Bradford, CB Anthony Gaitor, TE Derek Hardman, OT James Lee, TE Zach Pianalto, and DT Frank Okam.
SOURCE: Not available
Huddle Up: With TE Winslow active no fantasy impact here.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Thursday, Sept. 3, that they have dismissed offensive coordinator Jeff Jagodzinski. The team has promoted quarterbacks coach Greg Olson to offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach.
SOURCE: Not available
Huddle Up: That certainly didn't take long. Some reports suggest Jagodzinski wasn't on board with the Bucs' decision to start Byron Leftwich, though it's not as if Tampa Bay is flush with options at quarterback. It's unlikely the Buccaneers will attempt to install a new offense 10 days before the season starts, but this sort of upheaval certainly doesn't inspire confidence in the Bucs as fantasy producers.
